Premier League: Another strange performance from Manchester United

Manchester United 1 - 1 Burnley

Zeki Amdouni scored a late penalty to grab what could he a priceless point for relegation-threatened Burnley in the Premier League at Old Trafford.

Man United 1 - 1 Burnley

Despite another unconvincing display from Manchester United, they did look well set for victory thanks to Antony's well-taken 79th-minute effort.

Then Burnley got a penalty

Although the referee John Brooks managed to miss the foul in real time, unlike against Wolves the video assistant referee, Peter Bankes, stepped in. Substitute Amdouni managed to send the keeper the wrong way and earn Burnley this point

This result moved Burnley to within two points of fourth-bottom Nottingham Forest, whom they play at Turf Moor on the final day of the season.

There could still be a dramatic fight for survival with Burnley, Luton and Forest all scrambling to avoid relegation to the Championship.

You can watch the highlights of the match in the video below. The footage from YouTube is from the official Burnley account.

Liam, a Manchester United Season Ticket holder, spoke about the performance against Burnley: "That was another performance again in a dreadful season. This Summer can’t come soon enough. I just hope we sign a few new players."

Liam also gave more of an in-depth analysis of United's manager and what the future might have for the club. He said:  "Replacing managers may bring short-term improvements in a team's performance, mainly due to the eagerness of the players to impress their new boss.

"However, this positive impact has never lasted long because the underlying issues that caused the original failure were never addressed. Our issues are well-known and multifaceted. There's the chaotic organisational structure, player motivation, culture and discipline problems. These are not issues that can be resolved by sacking another manager."

A Burnley fan is annoyed with the lack of consistency

Tony, a Burnley fan, gave his opinion on his side's performance. He said: "That was a decent performance. However, I want to know why this effort hasn't been on display in other matches. Why can't we play like that every week? Do we only turn up when there's a big crowd on? I almost feel a bit cheated. For all the PR, I have been annoyed with Kompany this season. I'm not sure he'll be the man to take us back up if we get relegated."
