Leicester kept the majority of possession in the game’s early stages and created the first chance of note in the 15th minute when Freddie Woodman came out to deny Vardy an opening goal.

Jamie Vardy's goals had previously fired the Foxes to a Premier League title and FA Cup glory. He eventually added to his reputation as a Leicester City icon with a goal in each half to take his overall season tally to 20 in all competitions.

Kasey McAteer then added a third with for a Leicester side that has almost dominated this match from start to finish. They have become the fourth club – after Burnley, Fulham and Norwich - in as many years to make an immediate return to the Premier League Championship title winners following relegation.

Where next for Vardy?

Despite this title, there remains a lot of uncertainty about Vardy and the whole of Leicester City. It will be interesting to see where many of this squad are plying their trade next season as Leicester will want to not get stuck in a relegation battle and have a comfortable return to the Premier League.

The best Leicester City reaction

Frank, a Leicester fan, told us: "The Leicester fans under 40 years of age, they've had some huge nights in their time. All the Wembley success in the 90s, the recent Premier League and FA Cup success. These are all special memories!"

Stephen added: "I wonder what are the odds of Leicester winning the Premier League next season? 5000-1? Despite everything, you wouldn't bet against it, would you? Leicester City forever."

Danny also spoke with pride about his side's success, telling us: "The Championship division is so difficult now, with multiple former Premier League teams that can compete at the top of the league. Even if you earn 90 points, there is no guarantee of promotion. If you only earn 50 points, you could land in League One."
