It was a performance worthy of their status as European champions, and James once again starred with two goals and three assists.

The 13,497 people in attendance on Friday were treated to a masterclass from Chelsea's James, who scored the match-winner against Denmark.

England thrash China

James was on fire throughout this match. She helped England get off to the perfect start when she teed up Alessia Russo for the opener, and later slipped the ball through to Lauren Hemp to place it into the bottom corner.

The game was largely one-way traffic as England dominated and overwhelmed. James struck first time and into the corner to make it 3-0 before a further stunning finish was ruled out for offside by video assistant referee (VAR).

Since China knew they were heading out of the tournament if they didn't respond, they came out with more aggression in the second half, unnerving England slightly when Shuang Wang scored from the penalty spot after VAR picked up a handball by Lucy Bronze.

James wasn't done yet - she volleyed Jess Carter's deep cross past helpless goalkeeper Yu Zhu for England's fourth goal before substitute Chloe Kelly and striker Rachel Daly joined in.

 Let's explore the best reaction

Penny watched the game on TV, she told us: "China just couldn’t handle England’s set-up. A dominant & controlled display from England. We fully deserved the score line, although it should have been 7-1! There’s no way Bronze was offside, she was not active and walked back onside for the first kick. Ignoring that though, what a brilliant win. It's coming home!"

Frankie added: "We scored Some delightful goals. I'm also enjoying the referee explaining the decisions with a microphone, along with less crowding of the ref after every decision."

Jamie was also delighted with England's performance. He also watched the match on TV: "This was a fantastic display of attacking football from an England side that are a joy to watch."
