EFL: Sheffield Wednesday complete comeback for the ages
Sheffield Wednesday 5 - 1 Peterborough United
(The match finished 5-5 on aggregate, Sheffield Wednesday won 5-3 on penalties.)
Sheffield Wednesday pulled one of the greatest playoff comebacks in English Football League history to beat Peterborough United on penalties.
Substitute Jack Hunt scored the fifth penalty as the Owls, who had trailed 4-0 from the first leg, secured their place at Wembley in the League One play-off final.
Throughout the match, people were discussing what was happening on social media. Very few people expected Wednesday to turn this match around.
How did that happen?
The home side made the perfect start when Michael Smith slotted home a penalty in the opening 10 minutes to give the home fans renewed hope a miracle could be on the cards before Lee Gregory tapped in to make it 2-0 after 25 minutes.

The home side continued to pour forward after the break. Reece James got the third with a close-range finish before Liam Palmer scrambled home with the last kick of the 90 minutes to spark pandemonium amongst the Sheffield Wednesday support.
Posh had scarcely got out of their own half in the second half. However, Gregory deflected a Nathan Thompson header into his own net in extra time to put the visitors back in front on aggregate, only for Callum Paterson to poke home at the second attempt to send the tie to penalty kicks. This created more incredible scenes. They ultimately came out on top after penalties and thousands of Wednesday started celebrating. What a night.

The Owls, who finished 19 points and three places above Peterborough, had left themselves with a seemingly impossible mountain to climb after being thrashed 4-0 last week
In front of a raucous crowd and one of the great atmosphere's in Wednesday's recent history, Marvin Johnson was clattered to the ground on the very edge of the penalty area by Joe Ward and Smith confidently rolled home his spot-kick. That was only the start of it. You can watch the highlights of the match and some behind the scenes content in the video below. L&M on YouTube commented: That noise, those fans, those players, that club should be extremely proud of last night. That's gone down in the history books! I doubt we'll ever see anything like that ever again."
Colin Mannion commented on the same video: "Only Wednesday who had the real heart could do it! It shows what the mind can do! Well done lads!"

James, a Sheffield Wednesday fan commented on Facebook, told us: "That was an incredible night. Probably the greeatest night that I've had watching this wonderful football club.
Adrian, a Peterborough fan, was in the away end at Hillsborough. He told us: "I'm gutted. It was an awful night and performance. I'm not really sure what happened between last week and the second-leg."
Where do the losers on the night go next?
After that fantastic first-leg performance, Darren Ferguson had looked set to lead them to Wembley and the possibility of his fifth promotion with the club.
In an interview with the media after the match, He added: "We don't know what the future holds, it's not the right time to answer that. I've got a lot of players in there that are sore, the young ones are going to have to remember this, because it's a sore night."
