UCL: Spurs qualify after a dramatic night

 Marseille 1 - 2 Tottenham Hotspur

It was a dramatic night in France

Tottenham went through to the Champions League last 16 as Group D winners. They scored in stoppage time to beat Marseille.

Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg struck in the 95th minute to seal Tottenham's progress to the last 16 on a night when they were once heading out of the competition.

Spurs only needed a draw to qualify for the knockout stage but at one point on the night, they were going out. Marseille took the lead through defender Chancel Mbemba on the stroke of half-time.

Clement Lenglet equalised early in the second half to put Spurs in a decent position. Towards the end of the match, Tottenham were holding on desperately late on. As Marseille pushed for the winner they needed to go through, they were caught on the break and Hojbjerg sealed victory for the North London side.

All the best reaction in one place

We explored the internet for some of the best reaction to the match. We also spoke with a number of Spurs and Marseille fans offline.

One of the home fans told us: "It was the best atmospheres I've experienced for a while. Just a pity we didn't extend our European campaign.

This was the welcome that the French side gave the English visitors.

Antonio.Conte was in the stands so Tottenham assistant boss Cristian Stellini was the leading man on the touchline. He told BT Sport: "The performance, we have to analyse. We repeat the same routine of the last three or four games - not starting well in the first half. We didn't use our intensity in the first half. We let them play too much in our half and we lost the pitch. They had control of the game.

"In the second half when we changed to 3-5-2 we had more control of the game. We played a good second half."
