EFL: Burnley win at Huddersfield

Huddersfield Town 0 - 1 Burnley

And we're off! The English domestic season has begun.

Let's have a look at all the best reaction as Burnley beat Huddersfield in the opening game of The Championship.

Burnley win at Huddersfield

What happened?

It was a game of two halves, but ultimately Burnley got the win that their first-half showing deserved.Ian Maatsen's strike proved to be the difference between the two teams. The Clarets should have been out of sight by the half-time whistle after a bright first 45 minutes.

The Terriers improved after the break but they couldn't trouble the away side's backline.

Who said that?

One Burnley fan replied: "Absolute Joy to watch that, a breath of fresh air, but if that game doesn’t tell you we need a proper striker then I don’t know what will."

Another added: "First half was fluid, quality, domination. Second half was dogged, ruthless and passionate. Every aspect of our game was absolutely spot on today."

The Huddersfield Town Twitter account posted the thoughts of their manager. He said: "“First half they were the much better team.

“Second half we changed a few things and gave it a good go and were much improved.”
