Transfer News: Brighton sign Simon Adingra

Brighton have announced the signing of Ivorian striker Simon Adingra from Danish side FC Nordsjaelland on a four-year contract.

The 20-year-old joined the Superliga club in January 2020 and scored on his debut against FC Copenhagen in April 2021.

Last season, Adingra contributed 10 goals and four assists for Nordsjaelland in 33 league and cup appearances.

Brighton technical director David Weir was full of praise for his new signing and welcomed Adingra to the club.

Weir told the Brighton website: "We’re delighted to welcome Simon to the club. He’s an exciting young player who has had a terrific start to his career in Denmark.

“He’s a creative offensive player who can play on both sides and is very good in one-on-one situations.

“He’s a talented young player who we’ve had an eye on for a while, and we’re looking forward to helping him with his development.”

Reaction

One Brighton fan told us: "This could be a great signing for us. Great to see us planning for the future."

Another added: "We could perhaps do with some experience but welcome Simon Adingra to our football club."
