Scotland: Celtic lift League Cup

Hibernian 1 - 2 Celtic

Let's have a look at how the match unfolded and some of the best reaction

Hibs 1 - 2 Celtic

Kyogo Furuhashi inspired Celtic to their first trophy under Ange Postecoglou with a compelling Scottish League Cup final victory over Hibernian.

The Japanese forward finished smartly to get Celtic level within a minute of them going behind to Paul Hanlon's towering header for Hibs.

He was then too quick for Hibs' defenders as he latched on to a quick free-kick to lob Matt Macey and win Celtic the trophy.

The Celtic boss was delighted

Ange Postecoglou spoke with the media after the match: "I can't guarantee success, but I wanted to give the fans hope and they saw that from the first day. It hasn't been smooth, we have had ups and downs, but I think they saw hope in us.

"The players are so resilient. I'm so happy they have had their rewards for it today."

No rendition of Sunshine on Leith

One of the defining moments of Hibs recent history was their 2016 Scottish FA Cup win over Rangers. The video of their fans singing Sunshine on Leith after that match has been watched on millions of times.

The hero on that occasion was David Gray. He had recently taken over as Caretaker manager of Hibs before eventually being replaced by Shaun Maloney. After what turned to be his last match in the role, Gray said to BBC Scotland: "We asked the players to give everything and have no regrets. I'm proud of how much they put into the game.

"We started the second half really well, got the goal but need to see through that period after we scored. It's disappointing we couldn't."
