PL News: Manchester City warn Phil Foden & Jack Grealish warned over conduct

Manchester City have warned Phil Foden and Jack Grealish have been warned over their conduct after they were left out of their win over Newcastle on Sunday.

The England pair were pictured on a night out after City's 7-0 home thrashing over Leeds.

City are currently top of the Premier League and the win at Newcastle was their 34th league victory of 202. This is a new record for the most top-flight wins by a team in a calendar year. Foden and Grealish have both been integral to this great run of form. Grealish has appeared in matches since his huge transfer from Aston Villa in the summer.

Foden is a great role model for City's academy but he needs to stop the occasional off the pitch issue.

Pep Guardiola will hope this momentary lack of discipline doesn't become a regular thing.

The City boss told BBC Radio 5 Live: "I pay a lot of attention to behaviour on and off the pitch. And when off the pitch is not proper they are not going to play.

"So they have to be focused all the time because the distractions in the Christmastime and everything that happens - you have to still be focused."

One City fan told us: "It's good to keep these players on their toes. The discipline should mean we have a fantastic end to the season."
