International break preview

A quick preview of the upcoming international break. Who needs what to qualify for the Qatar World Cup?

FIFA World Cup Trophy

England are close

England will be looking to confirm their World Cup place this month. They could qualify on Friday if they beat Albania, but they would also need second-placed Poland to fail to beat minnows Andorra. This is unlikely.

More realistically, they need four points from the Albania game and then San Marino away three days later. It would be up there with the greatest shocks in England's history if they didn't qualify from this position.

Arsenal's Emily Smith Rowe could potentially get first cap for the national side. He said to the media: "I'm always proud to wear the shirt, no matter what age group, and I'm happy to be here."

Scotland for the play-offs?

Scotland only need to beat Moldova on Friday to secure a play-off place. They have been dealt a blow though as Scott McTominay has been forced to withdraw from the squad. How much of an impact will this have?

Scotland already know that they can't catch Denmark in the group. The Danes have wrapped up the sole automatic qualification spot and already looking at improving on their semi-final spot at last summer's European Championships

There's still work to do for Robert Page

Wales will be guaranteed a play-off place if they take four points from their final two home games with Belarus and Belgium. They could qualify automatically but are five points behind Belgium with two games to go. They would need the world's number one ranked side to lose to Estonia as well as to Rob Page's men in Cardiff.

Should they qualify as everyone expects, there will be a lot or pressure on Belgium in Qatar. This is probably the last chance for their 'golden generation' to win a major tournament.
