FA Cup: St Albans City 3 - 2 Forest Green Rovers

St Albans City produced the shock of this season's FA Cup so far as they Forest Green Rovers 3-2

The National League South side stunned the League Two side with a wonderful and committed performance

Matty Stevens put Forest Green in front from close range. Gave from Mitchell Weiss and Zane Banton in the space of less than four minutes saw the part-timers take a shock first half lead. The lead didn't last and Jack Aitchison levelled in first-half stoppage time.

The part-timers impressed again after the break as Shaun Jeffers got a deserved winner.

St Albans City winning goalscorer Shaun Jeffers told the BBC after the match: "This is amazing, this is what dreams are made of.

"We had Forest Green at home and they're top of the league and flying. But we always knew we had a chance, we were unbeaten in 14, now 15 games and we're on a good run so we always felt confident."

One St Albans fan told us this morning: "I have just woken up and almost thought it was all a dream. Just one more match and we could be playing at Old Trafford against Manchester United. That would be the dream! Who knows, with the way Man United are playing at the moment, maybe we could beat them?"

This is how the losing team responded.

The head coach Rob Edwards also speak with BBC Radio Gloucestershire:

"They deserved it, it's their night tonight, the magic of the FA Cup and they've got what they deserved.

Will there be any more shocks in this season's competition? Are your local side still on the road to Wembley? It promises to be another great season in the world's greatest football competition.
