Video games: Fans criticize new football game from Konami
The video game franchise that used to be known as Pro Evolution Soccer has endured one of the worst video game launches in recent history
One review from Metro Games states: "It’s almost hard to describe how underwhelming the graphics are. "
Football news from the real world of the sport can be found here.
Twitter discussion has been dominated in the last week with hundreds of examples of melted faces. One user said: "Konami you really shouldn't have released this in this state. This is bad... I mean really bad.. Like bad bad bad #eFootball2022"

Another Twitter account said: " Gamers had high hopes for the latest offering from Konami Digital Entertainment after seeing the company take a year out of a power battle with FIFA to transform PES, but its rebrand has flopped as eFootball 2022 has quickly become the most-hated game on review site Steam250. "
This review was a little bit more positive: "Gameplay 6/10. Menu : 8/10. Players model :5/10. Pitch: very unrealistic 3/10. Pre and post match animations: 7/10 They literally downgraded from pes 21 #eFootball2022. @Konami fix up the glitches."

The battle between the FIFA series and PES used to be every bit as tense as United v Arsenal or Liverpool v City but many experts believe Konami's football sim will struggle to recover from this disaster.
Previous versions of the game are still spoken about today as being some of the finest football games ever created. We really hope Konami can sort it out.
