What happened on the night?
Manchester United were 2-0 down and seemingly heading out of the FA Cup when a Dutch legend answered Man United's alarm call from the substitutes' bench.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer sparked a dramatic 3-2 FA Cup win for United away to Aston Villa in 2002

In a stunning five-minute spell, Villa's 2-0 lead was turned on its head. It was a nightmare for Villa and a wonderful evening for all associated with Manchester United.
Incredible following from Manchester United
This match went down in folklore amongst Manchester United's support. Several thousand Manchester United made the trip to the Midlands on a January Sunday evening, You can some of the incredible crowd scenes in the video below.
Paul English, a well known Manchester United fan, was there. He said on Twitter back in May 2021: "I was in the Trinity Road with a mate who supported Villa, having a Glory Glory Man United ringtone on my mobile made for an interesting exit after the game."

Another United fan added: "This was quite possible the best away day, it was certainly up there anyway. Villa scoring 2 quick 2nd half goals , United 2 -0 down coming back to score 3 goals in the last 15 minutes.
"Ole and Ruud sent the red hordes wild with joy."
The aftermath
United fans thought their club were on the cusp of another famous cup run. They were mistaken. In the next round, they lost 2-0 against Middlesbrough in front of a crowd of only 17,000.
