The Eagles were still basking in the glow of Saturday’s historic FA Cup final win over Manchester City, the club’s first major trophy, and supporters gave their heroes a rousing reception before kick-off. Even an early setback couldn't dampen the mood, as Emmanuel Agbadou headed Wolves into a surprise lead.

Palace, however, responded in style. Nketiah turned the match around with two goals in quick succession before half-time. The former Arsenal striker fired in the equaliser after a clever cutback from Romain Esse, and then added a second moments later by converting Ismaila Sarr’s cross.

Ben Chilwell extended the lead after the break, with his free-kick taking a heavy deflection off Agbadou to beat the goalkeeper.

Wolves showed some resistance, as Jorgen Strand Larsen (who had set up Agbadou’s opener) made it 3-2 with a well-placed header. But any hopes of a comeback were swiftly ended when Eze, coming off the bench, sealed the points with Palace’s fourth, adding to his Wembley heroics.

The result lifts Palace beyond the 50-point mark in a Premier League season for the first time since 1991-92, when they finished with 57. For Wolves, it was another frustrating afternoon, as they stay 14th in the table.

Palace fans can sense momentum for their club

Crystal Palace supporters are still revelling in the joy of their club's first major trophy, following Saturday’s unforgettable FA Cup final victory over Manchester City.

Celebrations that began over the weekend carried on into Tuesday night at Selhurst Park, where the atmosphere remained electric for the penultimate Premier League fixture of the season. Fans waved cardboard and inflatable replicas of the FA Cup and sang proudly about their return to European competition, with Europa League football now secured.

Manager Oliver Glasner opted to rotate his squad, resting key players including Eberechi Eze and Jean-Philippe Mateta. But those who featured showed no signs of a Wembley hangover, with a sharp and confident performance against Wolves.

Eddie Nketiah, making a rare start, seized his chance. The forward, who has endured a frustrating campaign since his £30 million switch from Arsenal, doubled his Premier League goal tally for the season. His first was a composed strike into the far corner, while his second showcased his movement in the box as he turned in Ismaila Sarr’s cross.

It was a night that continued the party in south London and underlined the growing belief around Selhurst Park.
